A.J. Brown, a general contracting company which serves a variety of clients throughout the United States, is assisting with planning for an $18 million construction project at the St. Louis Holocaust Museum & Learning Center. The company is responsible for budgeting and scheduling services during the pre-construction phase.
The 35,000-square-foot center, which triples the attraction’s current space, will be located adjacent to the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, at the northwest corner of Schuetz Road and Lindbergh Boulevard in unincorporated St. Louis County.
The existing museum, which opened in 1995 and attracts more than 30,000 visitors each year, will be redesigned and incorporated into the new center. It will house more than 12,000 artifacts, several classrooms and a multipurpose space for 250 guests.
The Holocaust resulted in the murder of 6 million Jews during the 1940s. The museum & center serves as a community asset to address bias, bigotry and hate. Nearly 90 percent of its visitors are not Jewish, and school groups account for most of the visits.
